David Douglas Duncan (American, b. 1916) signed offset photographic print, "Picasso at Vauvenargues.", signed in pencil lower right margin and dated '72.
Kansas City native David Duncan was an important American wartime photographer known for his images of World War II, Korean and Vietnam war realities. He later was granted unprecedented access to his friend Pablo Picasso, capturing images of the great artist at work and at home. Duncan's book "Viva Picasso" references this image of Picasso at Chateau de Vauvenargues
