238: STANLEY MERRILL & PHILLIPS RAILWAY ADVERTISING FOB

Die struck, double-sided fob for the Stanley Merrill & Phillips Railway Company: reverse advertises 'log trains, teams, booms, bridge construction, steam deckers,' of Stanley, Wisconsin. Obverse shows an engine under 1909 and over SPUR 5.
The SM&P RR was chartered in 1893 by the Northwestern Lumber Company, with the intention of connecting Stanley in Chippewa County, Merrill in Lincoln County, and Phillips in Price County, Wisconsin.
