The Sower (1978)
Lee Oscar Lawrie (1877-1963) was an architectural sculptor commissioned to create a figure to be installed atop the Nebraska State Capitol circa 1930. This tabletop model was cast in 1978 after the 19-foot bronze sculpture installed at the Nebraska State Capitol, the hooded male figure casting seeds from a pouch at his waist, dark verdigris patina, free-form circular base inscribed 'The Sower Lee Lawrie 1928 copy - Geo. Hoffmeister 1978 #7'. The Hensons moved from Lincoln, Nebraska, to Kansas City in 1959.
Measures 11.5 x 5.25 x 5.25 inches.
Very good original condition, free from damage, wear or repair.
