142: RARE 'THE BALTIMORE AND OHIO SOUTHWESTERN' VARIANT SIGN

The two-color porcelain enamel sign for short line THE BALTIMORE AND OHIO SOUTHWESTERN RAILROAD COMPANY that operated approximately 900 miles of track between 1889 and 1900, making this a rare sign made by the Baltimore Enamel & Novelty Company founded in 1898. Passengers are notified to purchase their tickets before entering the car or be charged an extra fare.
Measures 10 x 14 inches.
Very good condition, noting porcelain loss down the right side and lower left corner, grade 7.5 to 8.
